Assessing Coastal Uplift and Habitat Changes in a Glacially Influenced Estuary System Located in Kachemak Bay, Alaska

The Core Intended User group for the KBRR-led research project focusing on land-level change and sea-level rise met September 18, 2013 in Homer at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center. Attendees listened to an update of the study findings from UAF Geophysical Institution researcher, Jeff Freymueller.  Click here to view this presentation. Ted Perkins, FEMA Regional Engineer, joined by phone to brief the group on the draft flood zone maps for the region, and to engage in conversation about possible applications of this study’s findings. The final Core Intended User meeting will be held Wednesday December 5th from 9:30 – 12 pm at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center Seminar Room.
